Thirsty Pig's Baked Beans
Tasting Notes
Bacony, sweet, nostalgic
Weekly Review
YESSIR! We got another restaurant bean on the docket this week... this time from the Thirsty Pig in Portland, ME.
While I came here for the hot dogs, which they do EXCEPTIONALLY WELL! I was pleased to see that they had baked beans on the menu... so you know we had to lock in and pair the dog with the beans.
I'm going to cut straight to the chase, these beans are some of the best I've ever had. I feel like it's a New Englander thing but baked beans, hot dogs, and brown bread (specifically the canned B&M variety) is SUCH a nostalgic trip for me. These beans are made with hot dogs and really capture that classic heartwarming baked bean vibe I've been chasing. You know that scene in Ratatouille where Anton Ego eats a bite of the ratatouille and gets transported back to his childhood memories? Honestly, that happened to me. Really great beans from a spot I didn't expect to have beans to begin with.
Highly recommend trying these out, get their pickle appetizer with it.
